BRADENTON, Fla. -- Edward R. Marshall, age 81, of Bradenton, Fla., formerly of Richfield and Edina, died on July 11, 2005, of injuries sustained in a tragic motor vehicle accident. Survived by his loving and devoted wife, Lee, of 28 years; daughters, Kandice (Paul) Weingarden, Tammy Adams; sons, Gary (Maria) Marshall, Robert (Meg) Marshall, Mark Marshall, Jay (Deb) Adams; brother, William (Evie); and many grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.
He was born in Brainerd, Minn., on Oct. 10, 1923, attended high school and junior college there, and excelled in football, basketball and track. He subsequently received a bachelor's degree from the University of Minnesota. He served as a radioman in the U.S. Navy during World War II, patrolling the eastern seaboard aboard blimps during reconnaissance missions. He worked for Honeywell for 36 years, rising from a position of purchasing clerk to corporate comptroller and vice president. He will be greatly missed by all.
A memorial service to take place in Bradenton will be scheduled later.
