CROSSLAKE -- The Crosslake Lutheran Church 8th annual classic car Sunday outdoor worship service will be 10 a.m. Sunday located on Daggett Pine Road across from the Crosslake Community Center in downtown Crosslake.
The community and visitors to the area are invited to attend this special service or participate by coming in a vintage, sports car, street road or any other specialty car. Coffee, rolls and juice will be served during the fellowship time. Any questions, call 692-3682.
Get excited to go on an African Safari with First Lutheran Church's vacation Bible school, from 9 a.m. to noon July 25-29 at 424 South Eighth Street, Brainerd. The Bible school is for three-year-olds through fourth grade. The kids will go a field trip every day. To register, call the church office at 829-9552.
Foundations Quartet to perform
MALMO -- The Foundations Quartet will perform at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Malmo Free Church located on Highway 18 at the junction of Highways 47 and 18, northeast corner of Lake Mille Lacs.
The Foundations Quartet, of Apple Valley, sing gospel-style and contemporary music for the enjoyment of all tastes.
Youth reach out to community
Thirteen youth and a number of adults from Park United Methodist Church were joined recently by 36 youth and 14 adults from four other United Methodist Churches from Minnesota and one from Normal, Ill., and they worked in the community. They scraped and painted three houses and the fair booth and shake shack. They also helped United Way, working one-half day on a house in Crosby, and helped Habitat for Humanity with a warehouse inventory, landscaping two house, salvaging, party preparation and working at ReStore.
'Old Fashioned Bazaar'
FORT RIPLEY -- St. Mathias Catholic Church is hosting their annual "Old Fashioned Bazaar" with Mass at 10 a.m. Sunday and a ham and turkey dinner from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Cost: $7 for adults; $4 for kids ages 4-12. The bazaar will feature live music, beer garden, adult bingo and kids' games.
The church is located at 4529 County Road 121 in Fort Ripley.
Annual polka service
Trinity Lutheran Church will have their annual polka service at 9 a.m. July 24 with music by Lorren Lindevig. Lindevig has been playing the accordion for more than 60 years and has been featured on more than 1,500 television shows.
The church is located at 1420 South Sixth Street in Brainerd.
Polka service at Zion Lutheran Church
Zion Lutheran Church in Brainerd will have their polka service with worship at 5:30 p.m. and a cookout at 6:30 p.m. July 23. Music will be by Chuck Thiel and the Jolly Ramblers.
Annual rummage sale
PEQUOT LAKES -- Grace United Methodist Church of Pequot Lakes will have its annual rummage sale July 29 and 30.
Anyone interested may donate new and good used items between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. July 25-27 to the Fellowship Hall entrance of the church, on Highway 371, 1.7 miles south of the Pequot stoplights.
Clothing items must be clean. All items must be in safe, working condition. No large appliances.
Donation receipts, for tax purposes, are available on request.
