The Brainerd Youth Advisory Council (Y.A.C.) would like to thank everyone involved in the Battle of the Bands 2000. This event took place on Don Adamson Field the evening of July 3. Over 300 people attended the event. Eight bands played from 6-11 p.m. The bands were: Idle Tuesday, Steve's The Drummer, SFL, Good Soldiers, Reckless Junket, We 3 Kings, Rancy Neagan and Atrophy. The winners of the event were: third place, Reckless Junket, second place, Good Soldiers and 1st place went to We 3 Kings. We 3 Kings also performed during the July 4 parade, the next day.

YAC has so many people to thank for the success of this second annual event. They include: The Brainerd City Council for their constant support, Brainerd Community Action and the July 4th Board, especially Nancy Cross, Community Action Director, all of the bands plus Mr. Gerry Wass, instructor at Brainerd High School, for entertaining the crowd for five hours, Tim Norton, emcee, the four judges for the event, the concessionaires, the Brainerd Police Department, Dan Kuhn and the crew from Music General, Northwoods Turf & Power, and of course, the 309 people who attended.
