Motorcyclist released from hospital

John Mielke, 54, Maplewood, who was critically injured in a May 23 crash that involved seven motorcycles, three cars and a pickup on Highway 169, has been released from North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale, a hospital spokesman said Thursday.

Driver in fatal crash in fair condition

A 25-year-old Cass Lake man hospitalized following a two-vehicle, head-on fatal collision July 7 on Highway 371 north of Walker is in fair condition, a North Memorial Medical Center spokesman said Monday.

Richard Norton was driving a car northbound on Highway 371 when he swerved over the center line and collided with a vehicle driven by Chris Larson, 29, Atwater.

Norton's passenger, Roy Lovelace, 49, Minneapolis, died en route to the hospital, Norton was airlifted to North Memorial Medical Center and Larson wasn't injured.
