AITKIN -- Todd Szymanski stuck out seven in seven innings to lead the Crosslake American Legion baseball team past Aitkin Tuesday 12-1.
He helped himself by going 2-for-4 with a double, triple, RBI and two runs scored offensively.
Matt Sergent was 2-4 with two runs and two RBI for Crosslake and Ian Dickmeyer and Kyle Medearis were both 1-2 with two RBI.
Brian Burman scored Aitkin's only run on a solo home run.
"We played a great baseball game," said Crosslake coach Brett Sergent. "They were up for us, but we came to play.
"We put three on the board right away in the first inning and just played a great game. We hit the ball. Todd pitched a great game and we had no errors. It was fun to watch for us."

Crosslake sweeps Verndale
CROSSLAKE -- The Crosslake Legion baseball team swept Verndale Saturday by scores of 13-2 and 2-1.
In game one Jesse Nelson was 2-for-4, Bryce Szymanski was 2-3 with three RBI and Zach Herding was 2-3 with two runs and a RBI.
Chris Johnson pitched the complete-game victory by striking out five, walking two, allowing three hits and no earned runs.
In game two Herding was 2-2 and Todd Szymanski earned the win. He struck out seven walked none, gave up three hits and no earned runs in five innings.
