Anybody hungry for beans?

Don Lenzen (right) helped guide the first pot of baked beans into the ground Tuesday in Pequot Lakes. The beans will cook on coals under the ground through the night and will be served about noon Wednesday as part of the annual Bean Hole Days celebration in Pequot Lakes.

Jon Hovey, co-chair of the Bean Hole Days celebration, stirred one of the large pots of beans with a canoe paddle Tuesday in Pequot Lakes. Bean Hole Days festivities continue Wednesday with arts and crafts vendors and the serving of the beans about noon Wednesday in downtown Pequot Lakes. More than 500 pounds of beans are cooked under ground for the event.
