Open Forum: Recall Pawlenty for his arrogance
We have seen the arrogance, which our governor displayed with the political gamesmanship he displayed when he got the legislature to pass a balanced budget which he managed to avoid doing any part of. He played the leader of the opposition party in the legislature without being part of the legislature great gamesmanship but not good for the state. I would like to see a recall petition at every county fair this fall to reward him for his arrogance.
Our opinion: YMCA-Schools
The long-talked-about concept of a shared parking lot for the Brainerd Family YMCA and the Brainerd School District is just too good of an idea to pass up. While I would like to see the school district look into the performance of some of their math teachers, recent discussion from some focusing blame on teachers for the poorer performance of 11th-graders on the standard math test recently isn't entirely fair. There are some excellent math teachers in the Brainerd district. I would focus on curriculum. Every one of my kids has had the math program used to teach them change multiple times during their years in school here. Each time, teachers have told me that change has made things difficult on the kids.
