AURORA, Colo. - James Bescheinen, 77, passed away on July 9, 2009, at the Colorado Veterans Home in Aurora, Colo. He was born March 27, 1932, in Harding, Minn., to Rudolph and Gertrude Bescheinen. He joined the U.S. Army in 1951 and proudly served his country in the Korean War.
In 1961, Jim married and moved to Denver, Colo. Jim served in the Army Reserves and worked for the Gates Rubber Company as a pipe fitter. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, hunting and exploring the mountains he loved so much. Jim is survived by his wife, Rosalind; his three children, Sheri Dawson, James (Caroline) Bescheinen and Linda Bescheinen, as well as his grandchildren Joseph Dawson, Michael Dawson, Jessica Bescheinen and JT Bescheinen. He is also survived by brothers, Howard (Ruth) and Ronald (Gloria); many nieces and nephews; and brother-in-law, Matt Gilgenbach. Jim was preceded in death by his mother; father; sister, Doris Gilgenbach; and brother, Danny. Interment will be at Fort Logan Cemetery in Denver, Colo.
