Carlson, Bell tied for 10th after first round

PEQUOT LAKES - Curt Carlson and Robert Bell find themselves tied for 10th place after Monday's wind swept first round of the 81st annual Minnesota State Junior Boys' Championship at The Preserve at Grand View Lodge.

Each shot a first-round 78, four shots away from leaders Charlie Harris of Minneapolis Golf Club and Jon Trasamar of Riverside Town and Country Club.

Billy Utter of Grand View Lodge shot an 84. Drake Beyer of Deacon's Lodge shot 94 and Zach Israelson of The Vintage at Staples carded a 101.

The final round begins at 7 a.m. at the Preserve with Harris, Trasamar and Beau Anderson pairing teeing off at 12:45 p.m.
