The Brainerd square dancers have been invited to perform for the ABC Television network Dupont Show "This Proud Land." The dancing will be taped in color and shown later this summer over 250 television stations.

E.A. Hemkin, Brainerd, hooked a 12 pound, 1 ounce northern pike in Pelican Lake, to top the northern entry in Madison's fish contest for July. The pike is on display in Madison's store window on sixth Street.

The Brainerd tourist camp has gained considerable favor and has enjoyed a marked increase in patronage since the first of July, the grounds being well filled with tourists every night.

The Laurel Street roller rink is enjoying a liberal patronage from the ladies this week. They are present each afternoon in large numbers and seem to enjoy the recreation very much. Ladies will be admitted free the rest of the week.
