Celley selected as voting delegate

Pastor Deborah Celley of the First Congregational United Church of Christ, Brainerd, has been selected by the UCC Minnesota Conference to be a voting delegate to the 24th General Synod of the United Church of Christ meeting in Minneapolis beginning today through Tuesday. The General Synod meets every other year. Several local members of First Church Brainerd will be attending the meeting as observers of the works of the UCC Polity in action.

Quaker Fellowship Sunday

Quaker Fellowship Sunday will be this Sunday at the First Congregational United Church of Christ, Brainerd. In Pastor Deborah Celley's absence, members of the local Quaker Fellowship, who have their meetings at First Congregational UCC, will be conducting the worship service and fellowship time. Quaker members who will be involved in the service are: Judy and Ron Kidder, Sara Dunlap, Steve Long, with Anne Nelson Fisher presenting the homily, and Tom Chesley.

Bikers Sunday

The Sixth Annual Bikers Sunday will be 10 a.m. this Sunday at the Outdoor Worship Center at Crosslake Lutheran Church, E.L.C.A. All types of bikes and motorcycles are welcome to attend and cars too. The outdoor worship center is located on Daggett Pine Road across from the community center in downtown Crosslake.

Groundbreaking ceremony set

The Brainerd Assembly of God Church will have a groundbreaking ceremony at 4 p.m. Sunday at the site for their new church off of College Drive in Baxter. Minnesota Assemblies of God District Superintendent Clarence St. John will attend.

Hope Baptist Church activities

Join in the fun this summer as Hope Baptist Church, Brainerd, sponsors these activities of stories, songs, crafts and games. Kids kindergarten through 6th grade are invited to come. The following events are scheduled for Monday through Friday. Barrows Town Hall Club, 9:30 a.m. to noon; Thompson Park Club, 9:30 a.m. to noon; Yard of Joel's, 9:30-11:30 a.m.; Lowell School, 1:30-3:30 p.m.; and Sports Clinic at Hope Baptist Church, 9:30 a.m. to noon. The Bible conference is from 6:30-8 p.m. Monday through Wednesday and is for everyone. Call Hope Baptist at 828-1594 for more information.

Gospel music at SLLPC

Gospel music, a mix of hymns, contemporary and Southern gospel, will be 7 p.m. Sunday at South Long Lake Presbyterian Church. The music is presented by the church's music ministry. Freewill offering will be taken for music scholarships for children in need.
