Rally For A Cure golf event Aug. 5

Pine Meadows Golf Course is hosting a Rally For A Cure 9-hole golf event Aug. 5.

Check-in and registration is 8:30 a.m. followed by a 10 a.m. shotgun start. A $15 registration fee goes to the Rally For A Cure. Cost to golf is $20, including a cart, or $12 for walkers.

Along with the "game of the day," a closest-to-the-pin contest is conducted at a designated par 3 Rally hole. Titleist golf balls bearing the pink ribbon breast cancer awareness symbol are awarded to each player who hits the green on their tee shot and a prize is given for the shot that lands nearest to the hole.

Players will receive early detection literature and an exclusive Rally pink ribbon pin to wear for the day, plus a one-year subscription to "Golf For Women" magazine.

Outing results

Becky Butcher, Amy Lichty, Laurel Mezner and Arla Johnson were winners of the "3-3-3" event during the Women's Outing at Grand View Lodge's Pines Golf Course.

Maxine Gifferson and Amy Lichty had the longest puttts and Pat Willette had a chip in.

Three teams tied for honors in Grand View Lodge's Coed Outing at Deacon's Lodge in Breezy Point July 1.

The four-person teams of Carna and John Linn and Andrea and Jerry Lipovetz; Linda and Phil Dabill and Pat and Carol Hendershott; and Judy and Joe Gries and Lorie and Randy Johnson won with 33s.

The team of Connie and Dale Erickson and Sharon and Mike Seeker shot 34 to tie for second place with Doug and Mary Miller, Barb Wenschlag and Steve Bruch.

Ellie Balsimo, Kari Dayton, Murph Loisel and Tim Crimmons were third with 35.

Longest drives were by Dale Erickson and Margarete Baker. Longest putts were by Phil Dabill and Mary Miller. Closest to the pin was Pat Hendershott and Becky Butcher. Carna Linn and Dan Peterson both had chip-ins.

At the women's outing June 29, Jan Hall, Marilyn Hall, Arlene Hart and Wendy Van Moer won the "best ball" game at the Garden Course with a 40.

Second place went to Ann Powers, Karen Williams, Kathy Zard and Sandy Mihalic.

Lynn Parker was closest to the pin and Ellie Balsimo had the longest drive.

At the Pines, Amy Lichty, Laurel Mezner and Arla Johnson shot a 38 to win the "best ball" game. Sharon Seeker, Judy Gries, Lorie Johnson and Connie Erickson were second with 39.

Longest drive was by Judy Gries, longest putt by Rose Johnson and Ellen Ogg had a chip-in.

Monday Morning Outings at the Garden Course start at 10 a.m.

The next coed outing is July 20 at Grand View Lodge's Pines Course. The next women's outings are July 12 at the Garden and Pines courses and July 15 at the Preserve.
