As the mother of the parade marshals, I would like to thank everyone for allowing them to be in the parade and for all the support they were given.
My sons and I read the opinions regarding their parade photo that was on Page 6 in Monday's paper. They appreciate all the concern and would like everyone to know how much it means to them that you all care.
Jon says they do not feel offended or slighted that their parade photo was not on the front page. They are just so grateful to all of you and will take home some wonderful memories.
They want everyone to know that, yes, they did turn their backs on the peace marchers, out of respect to their fellow servicemen, but they also want the BACP to know that they respect their rights too. That is why we have such a great country.
No one likes war, especially the brave men and women who have to be there. However, my sons and myself want the BACP to know how offended we are when they say, "We support the troops." You cannot support the troops if you don't support what they do
