Arneson strikes out 14 in Ironton win

AITKIN -- Matt Arneson struck out 14 to lead the Ironton American Legion baseball team to an 8-6 victory over Aitkin Thursday.

Arneson, a left-hander, gave up six hits and walked five.

Aitkin's Brian Burman doubled, singled and had two RBI and Jason Esler had a two-run single.

Andrew Hartshorn pitched the first four innings for Aitkin. He walked four, gave up six hits and five runs and hit one batter.

Esler pitched the last three innings. struck out one, walked four, gave up three hits and three runs and hit one batter.
