Brainerd loses despite Veith's hitting

BEMIDJI - Rob Veith wreaked havoc on the opposing pitchers as he went 4-for-6 with 3 stolen basses, scored three times and drove in another as Brainerd was swept 9-3, 8-3 by Bemidji during Tuesday's Legion Baseball doubleheader to conclude the regular season.

Veith was 2-for-3 and swiped one bag during Brainerd 9-3 Game One loss. Joel Martin and Trevor Howard each collected doubles for Brainerd in the opening game.

Veith scored twice and stole twice, but his efforts went to waste as Brainerd committed 8 errors in the 8-3 Game Two loss.

Brainerd will face Park Rapids on Wednesday, July 15 in the opening round of the sub-district tournament, date and location to be announced.
