County attorney seeks re-election

Posted: Monday, July 08, 2002

County Attorney Don Ryan, 41, filed for office today, seeking his third term as Crow Wing county attorney.

Ryan, a resident of Unorganized Territory, was elected in 1994 and 1998.

He said he wants to be in a position to use his eight years of experience to help structure the future of Crow Wing County.

"I'll work as hard as I can and try to be fair and efficient in the administration of the county's legal business," he said today.

No other candidates have filed for county attorney yet.

Also filing in the Secretary of State's office was DFLer Debra Copa. Nagel of rural Little Falls, who announced her candidacy for the District 12B House seat last month. The 12B seat is currently held by Rep. Greg Blaine, R-Little Falls.

Filings close at 5 p.m. July 16.
