The Brainerd American Legion baseball team raised its record to 16-0 by sweeping Park Rapids 4-3 and 11-1 Wednesday night at Adamson Field.
In the first game, Brady Prince went 3-for-4 and Brainerd overcame a 3-1 deficit with a three-run fourth. Kyle Holbrook was 2-3 with two RBI. Prince and Mike Germain each had one RBI.
Starter Jake Johnson pitched five innings, allowing four hits and three earned runs. He struck out five and walked five. Carl Sneep pitched the last two innings, giving up one hit and striking out two.
In the second game, Brainerd scored four times in the first and five in the fourth. Blake Eller, Justin Huether and Nate Maaske each had two hits for Brainerd. Eller, Maaske and Scott Williams doubled and Huether tripled. Eller had three RBI and Huether and Williams each had two.
Williams pitched a complete game. He gave up three hits, walked one and struck out two.
