UPSALA -- Alan "Al" W. Soltis, 50-year-old resident of Upsala, Minn., died as the result of a motor vehicle accident near Hebron, N.D.
Funeral services for Al Soltis will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Upsala, Minn., with the Rev. Craig Johnson and the Rev. Roger Schmidt officiating. Burial will be in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery near Little Falls, Minn. Friends may call Thursday from 4-8 p.m. at the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls. There also will be reviewal Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of service at Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Upsala. Military rites will be performed by the Brainerd American Legion of the Sixth District.
Alan W. Soltis was born Sept. 4, 1954, in Little Falls, Minn., to William and Marlene (Rardon) Soltis. Al worked with his father, Bill Soltis, in the family owned Soltis Plastering and Stucco Co. Alan was united in marriage to Theresa L. Gondringer on Jan. 23, 1993, in St. Joseph, Minn. He was also an active member in the Upsala American Legion Post No. 350 and the Sixth District American Legion. Al was recently elected to the position of vice commander in the Sixth District.
Alan W. Soltis is survived by his wife, Theresa "Terry" Soltis; sons, Benjamin Bick, at home, William Raymond Alan Soltis, at home, and Raymond Alan Soltis, at home; daughters, Erica Bick, of Hudson, Wis., Bryce Marlena Soltis, at home; parents, William "Bill" and Marlene Soltis, of Upsala, Minn.; sister, Beverly Edelstein, and husband, Jeff, of Bloomington, Minn.; niece, Victoria Walsh, and husband, John, of Randall, Minn.; great-nephew, Johnny Walsh; and great-niece, Madison Walsh.
