WALKER -- Cass County sold a dozen tax-forfeited and former state land leased lots at an auction June 12 and another parcel over the counter June 14.
Total revenue received from the sale was $603,800.
The county has a number of parcels remaining for sale at appraised value at the county auditor's office in Walker.
Many parcels are located in Wilderness Park in southern Cass County. Others include a lakeshore lot on Child Lake east of Hackensack, several city lots in Bena and acreage in Inguadona and Pike Bay Townships.
Tuesday, the county board authorized Land Commissioner Norm Moody to advertise for a forester to replace Joel Lemberg, who has accepted a position with the Minnesota DNR.
The board voted to ask Moody to prepare a master recreational trails plan for the county within the next 90 days and to obtain quotes for building a new road connection between White Water Lane and a forest access trail in North Trelipe Township at the south end of Lake Inguadona.
