SARTELL -- The Brainerd Legion baseball team scored four runs in the seventh inning Thursday to overcome a deficit and beat Sartell 10-8.
Matt Means led off the seventh with a walk and Kyle Berg and Kevin Ericson followed with base hits to tie the game at 7-7. Dan Kirkpatrick then walked to load the bases and Mike Zauhar laid down a suicide squeeze bunt to knock in Berg with the winning run. Tim Siekas and Nick Weiland each added walks to give Brainerd a three-run cushion entering the bottom of the seventh.
Zauhar finished 2-for-5, while Ty Adams hit a three-run home run in the first inning and Bob Brown connected on a two-run shot in the third to tie the game at 5-5.
Adam Hardy started for Brainerd, pitched the first 5 1/3 innings and allowed six earned runs. Ericson entered the game in the sixth and earned the win.
