Ernest W. Beck

NEVIS --Ernest William Beck, 93, Nevis, died Monday, May 1, 2000, at the Heritage Living Center of Park Rapids.

He was born Sept. 5, 1906, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, to Ernest and Anna (Stumpf) Beck. He attended school in Council Bluffs. He married Berniece Bailey in Council Bluffs. He was a mechanical engineer for a refrigeration and air conditioning company that he owned and operated until his retirement. They moved to Nevis and owned and operated Balmy Beach Resort on Lake Belle Taine.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Donald L. Beck, Nevis, and Lewis P. Beck, Minneapolis; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Three brothers and two sisters died earlier.

Services will be at a later date. Memorials are preferred to the Heritage Living Center.

Arrangements were with Brenny Funeral Chapel of Baxter.
