FORT RIPLEY - A week after losing 17-7 at Brainerd, the Fort Ripley Rebels beat the Braves 7-3 Sunday.

Fort's Nick Jelacie was 3-for-5 with an RBI, two stolen bases and a run. Bill Sather was 2-5 with a run.

Brainerd's Nate Foss was 4-5 with a double, walk and two runs. Derek Owen was 3-3 with two RBIs and two walks and Brandon Wolf was 3-5.

Ray Austin's 2-out, 2-run single in the second gave the Rebels a 2-1 lead. Brainerd tied it in the sixth on Owen's RBI single.

Fort took the lead for good with two runs in the bottom of the sixth, as one run scored on a throwing error and the other on Rhett Williamson's RBI single.

The Braves made it 4-3 in the seventh on Ron Hess' pinch-hit single.

The Rebels scored once in the bottom of the seventh and twice in the eighth for the final score. Brainerd committed six errors and left 18 runners on base.

Williamson had a sparkling game at shortstop.

His diving stop behind second base prevented a run from scoring in the fourth.

In the top of the fifth and Fort leading 2-1, the Braves loaded the bases with one out. Brandon Wolf hit a line drive up the middle. Williamson made a leaping grab and flipped to second baseman Brett Kramer to double off the runner at second.

Josh Haberman pitched three innings of middle relief to get the win. Ethan Branum started for the Rebels and left after five innings, giving up one run on five hits. Kramer worked a scoreless ninth.
