BAXTER - Beth Hansen of Lake Country Builders was recently named an in-house interior designer at the company. Hansen, a Allied ASID interior designer who moved to the lakes area from the Twin Cities, has been with Lake Country Builders for seven years.

Bicyclists to ride 500 miles for Habitat

The 15th annual Habitat 500 Bike Ride will be July 15 in St. Joseph, with stops in Alexandria, Perham, Baxter, Long Prairie and St. Cloud.

The bike ride will be seven days long with the goal of raising $500,000 for Habitat for Humanity homes in Minnesota.

Home Stretch classes scheduled in Brainerd

Home Stretch, a first-time homebuyer education workshop, will be offered from 6-9 p.m. Aug. 1, 8 and 15 at Central Lakes College in Brainerd.

The workshops educate first-time homebuyers about the process of buying a home. Topics covered include mortgage approval process, budget and credit issues, real estate, closing procedures, basic home maintenance and affordable mortgage products that may be available. The Central Minnesota Housing Partnership, a nonprofit organization providing affordable housing services to central Minnesota, coordinates the Home Stretch workshops.
