The Brainerd American Legion baseball team knocked the ball out of Don Adamson Field Monday to sweep Park Rapids 11-6, 14-5.
In game one Justin Huether's five strikeout, one walk pitching performance was spiced up by three Brainerd home runs.
Kyle Holbrook was 2-for-2 with a homer and three RBI. Chris Klabo was 2-3 with a solo home run and Blake Eller was 1-3 with a home run and three RBI. Devin Roberts, Mike Germain, Aaron Jenkins and Tony Hennen collected Brainerd's other hits.
In game two, Nate Maaske collected eight strikeouts and four walks on his way to the pitching victory.
He helped himself at the plate by going 2-3 with a RBI. Roberts was 3-3 with a RBI and Grand Eller was 1-3 with a home run and three RBI. Scott Williams also had a hit for Brainerd.
"The players had a meeting and we've got to start making some decisions on a pitching rotation and a lineup for the playoffs," said Brainerd coach Mark Germain. "The players met and coaches met and at this point we still have a week to mix and match, but we're coming up pretty quick to the playoffs."
