Michael F. Ross
PIERZ -- Michael F. Ross, 54, Pierz, died Wednesday, July 3, 2002, as the result of injuries suffered in an auto accident.
He was born March 7, 1948, at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base Hospital in Dayton, Ohio, to Michael J. and Helen M. (Merkling) Ross. He attended grade school at St. Joseph's Parochial School in Pierz. He graduated from Little Falls High School in 1967. He was employed for several years by Long Drilling Co. in the southwestern United States. He was a merchant mariner on the Great Lakes. He had worked the past several years for Gall Construction of Pierz as a carpenter.
Survivors include two sons, Aaron Ross, Portland, Ore., and Frankie Ross, St. Cloud; a daughter, Natasha VonderHaar, Little Falls; his mother, Helen M. Ross, Pierz; two brothers, Steven Ross, Pierz, and Peter Ross, Pierz; and four sisters, Helen Wojcie-chowski, Woodbury, Barb Balaski, Little Falls, Patricia Ross, Brainerd, and Michele Herold, Pierz.
His father; an infant brother; and his grandparents, Frank and Josephine Merkling, and Hubert and Anna Ross, died earlier.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at St. John's Nepomuk Catholic Church in Lastrup with Father Roger Thoennes officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Pierz.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today, with parish prayers at 7:30 p.m., and from 8-10:30 a.m. Monday at the Shelley-Virnig Funeral Chapel in Pierz.
