LITTLE FALLS -- At 4 p.m. Sunday, the Crow Wing String Band will perform a concert at Maple Island Park in Little Falls as part of the Great River Arts Association's summer Concerts in the Park series.
Making its fifth appearance in the annual series, the Crow River String Band has been providing bluegrass, gospel and country music in the central Minnesota area for the past 25 years. The group's style ranges from light country gospel to bluegrass and gospel bluegrass.
Instruments include the acoustic guitar, banjo, mandolin, fiddle and the electric bass guitar. "Dueling Banjos," "I Saw the Light," "Home on the Range" and "Orange Blossom Special" are a few of the tunes in this group's repertoire.
The Crow River String Band is made up of four members, including Paul Johnson, of the Twin Cities, Kevin and Lanny Anderson, both of Little Falls, and Marlin (Butch) Kottke, Howard Lake.
The Concerts in the Park are free of charge. Bring a chair or blanket to sit on. In case of rain, concerts will be held at the Black & White Hamburger Shop in downtown Little Falls.
