Showers and thunderstorms were expected across the Mid-Atlantic on Saturday. Severe weather was not expected, but the region was forecast to receive heavy rain and strong winds.
The Boston area was to remain mostly cloudy, but the rest of New England was to see generally sunny skies. Temperatures were to be in the 70s across most of the Northeast.
The Southeast was to see thunderstorms packing heavy rain and strong winds. Temperatures were to be in the 80s and 90s.
The middle part of the country was to be hot and mostly clear, with possible thunderstorms in the Plains. Temperatures were to reach the 90s and 100s.
The Pacific Northwest was to see rain and windy conditions. Farther inland, conditions were to be clear. Temperatures were to be in the 50s and 60s, with 70s inland.
The Southwest was to stay dry and hot, except for thunderstorms across the Four Corners. Temperatures were to be in the 90s and 100s, with a few areas reaching 110.
