TUCSON, Ariz. - Virginia Lee (Stszemp) Briggs passed away on June 26, 2008, in Tucson, Ariz. She was born on February 27, 1935, in Minneapolis. She was a beloved mother to Carey (Ray) Rasinski, Kelly (Terry) Hurley and Tom (Nina) Briggs. She will be missed by her many grandchildren, Robert (Nicole) Rasinski; Dyana and Katie Rasinski; Laura, Bill, Patrick and Brian Hurley; Gloria Briggs; and Garrett and Bryce Ravnedalen, as well as her great-granddaughter, Adeline Rasinski. Virginia is also survived by her two brothers, Greg Stszemp, of Minneapolis, and Tom (Laurie) Stszemp, of Nisswa. She is preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Edward and Pauline Stszemp, and her brother, John Stszemp.
Virginia was born in Minneapolis where she graduated high school from St. Margaret's. She loved traveling and had an exciting career as a flight attendant for TWA Airlines before she married Barney Briggs. She was very active with St. Joseph's Hospital and worked for various businesses in the Brainerd lakes area before moving to Tucson, Ariz. There she was employed by Tanque Verde Ranch and made many friends. She was a beautiful woman who will be missed dearly.
Virginia loved traveling and had an exciting career as a flight attendant for TWA Airlines before she married Barney Briggs.
A celebration of life service is scheduled for 11 a.m. July 12, 2008, at St. Christopher's Catholic Church in Nisswa, Minn. Friends and family may attend a memorial one hour prior to the service.
