The Lakes Area Dance Club will have a dance party on Thursday in Brainerd at the Central Lakes College, Room E101. Note the change of day for the summer months.
The dance lesson will begin at 6:30 p.m. with emphasis on the rumba; other dances will be reviewed. Arrive a few minutes early so that registration will be completed by the 6:30 p.m. start time. Breast cancer support group meetings
The July breast cancer support groups will meet at St. Joseph's Medical Center. The evening support meeting will be at 6 p.m. Thursday in the Joseph Room. The day support meeting will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday in the Camp Room at SJMC.
Sue Tiegs, the Income Development Coordinator for the American Cancer Society, will be the featured speaker at both meetings in July. She will talk about the Relay for Life on July 25 at Don Adamson Field behind the Brainerd High School. The Relay For Life features a survivor's reception at 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. There will be refreshments, prize drawings and a chance to connect with "old" and "new" survivors of cancer. There will be a survivors' lap and a caregivers' lap around the track following the opening ceremony. Food is available for purchase in the River Room cafeteria and can be taken into the meeting room for the program and to meet and share with other survivors. Mounted Eagles' breakfast
BAXTER - The Mounted Eagles breakfast will be 8-10 a.m. July 12 at Applebee's in Baxter. Volunteers and riders will take your orders and serving the pancakes, sausage and scrambled eggs. Cost for the breakfast is $5 per plate and all proceeds will help the ME continue the program and expand our services to special people living in our communities. Tickets can be purchased at the door or in advance from any ME program participant.

Support group for celiac disease
WADENA - A support group for celiac disease will meet at 6:30 p.m. July 14 at the Wadena Alliance Church Library (note change of location), 1428 Jefferson St. S, Wadena.
Information includes favorite products, useful baking tips, experiences in restaurants and lots of gluten-free talk. Bring a gluten-free bread, muffin, etc., to share along with the recipe or just copies of your favorite recipe.
