Federal lawmakers announce grant for Pine River airport

The Pine River Regional Airport recently received a $59,850 grant to install miscellaneous NAVAIDS and to rehabilitate the runway.
The announcement was made Thursday by Sen. Al Franken, D-Minn., Sen. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., and Rep. Jim Oberstar, D-Minn.
DNR reports June precipitation, year-to-date figure below average
Precipitation in June was below average with 4.49 inches compared to an average of 4.92 inches, the DNR's Brainerd forestry office reported.
The year-to-date precipitation was 10.42 inches compared to an average of 13.75 inches.
June's high temperature was 87 degrees on June 22. The low temperature of 40 degrees was recorded on June 3.
