Absentee ballots for the Aug. 10, statewide primary election are now available, Cass County reported.
An absentee ballot application for either the Aug. 10 primary or Nov. 2 general election, or both, may be submitted now. Absentee ballots for the Nov. 2 general election will be available no later than Sept. 17.
In addition, absentee balloting for select precincts is available at the following locations:

Pillager City Hall - for precincts: Pillager City; Fairview and May Townships; and that portion of the City of Motley lying in Cass County.
East Gull Lake City Hall for the precinct of East Gull Lake City.
Lake Shore City Hall for Lake Shore City precinct.
Sylvan Town Hall for the Sylvan Township precinct.
For military and overseas absentee ballot applications, the voter may apply, or the voter's spouse, parent, sibling or child more than 18-years-old may apply on the voter's behalf. The applicant may specify that the ballot be sent by e-mail, fax or regular mail.
If a voter is permanently disabled, they may apply to have an absentee ballot application automatically mailed to them for all upcoming elections.
Absentee ballots require a "witness." A witness may be any registered voter of Minnesota, including a spouse or relative; a notary public; or any person having authority to administer an oath.
The Cass County Auditor-Treasurer's Office and the other absentee voting locations in Cass County shown below will have extended hours for absentee voting for the statewide primary election on from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 7 and on Aug. 9 until 5 p.m. For the statewide general election Nov. 2, extended hours for absentee voting will be on 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 30 and Nov. 1 until 5 p.m. at these same locations.
