THEFTS - Holiday Station, Garrison, Thursday reported a gas theft.

Shawn Rohde, Lake Edward Township, Wednesday reported a fraudulent buyer for his vehicle.

Learned Wednesday a suspect has been taking checks from a Rice Lake Lane home and cashing them.

Received a report Wednesday that a fraudulent check was created for a Pine Beach Road resident's account. The resident was referred to identity theft information.

ASSISTANCE - Cheri Brooks called from Crow Wing State Park at 3:43 a.m. Thursday seeking assistance as she believed there was a bear in her tent.

Assisted Brainerd Police Department Thursday on the 1400 block of Oak Street, attempting to locate suspects in an arson fire following a vehicle fire.

Received a report Wednesday of a really bad smell coming from a residence, Wilderness Point Road in Garrison, that is abandoned and foreclosed on. A deputy checked and found there was no smell and all appeared OK.

Received a report of disturbance Wednesday over a repossessed vehicle. Upon arrival, the deputy learned the parties reached an agreement and the situation was resolved.

Richard Aulie, Wednesday, McKay Road and Riverside Drive, reported fireworks thrown at his vehicle.

Smith Lake Association, Garrison, reported dangerous area on channel between Smith and Barbour lakes. The area will be checked for hazards.

BURGLARY - Ann Marie Justin, Wednesday reported a burglary on the 22000 block of County Road 4 in Lake Edward Township.

CRASHES - No injuries were reported in a crash at 5:55 p.m. Wednesday on the 16000 block of Airport Road.

ARRESTS - Arrested a 24-year-old male Thursday after receiving a report of a suspicious person on the 1000 block of Norwood.

Arrested a 19-year-old male for gross misdemeanor probation violation after making contact with the man hiding behind Mickey's Subs.

Arrested a 31-year-old male about 1:11 a.m. Thursday following a crash at the 400 block of Southeast 13th Street. The male was arrested for first-degree DWI, a probation violation, leaving the scene of an accident and fleeing on foot. No injuries were reported in the crash.

Arrested an 11-year-old boy Wednesday after Boys PORT Group Home, 1400 block of Laurel Street, reported a fifth-degree assault.

FIRES - Found smoke coming out of an open fuel door on a vehicle parked on the 700 block of South 11th Street.

A vehicle was on fire at 12:23 a.m. Thursday on the 1400 block of Oak Street.

A fire was reported at 12:21 a.m. Thursday in a can behind John's Tavern on the 1100 block of Oak Street.

THEFTS - The Holiday Station, Mill Avenue, Wednesday reported a gas drive-off.

Joseph Norman, 700 block of Laurel Street, Wednesday reported a theft of a Nintendo from a tattoo shop.

Received a report Wednesday of someone writing checks on a closed bank account.

CRASH - No injuries were reported at 7:17 p.m. Wednesday at Washington and Northwest Second Street when a driver stated she swerved on the cement median after a male driver threw a half-full pop bottle at her vehicle.

INVESTIGATIONS - A man, Buffalo Hills Lane and South Sixth Street, Wednesday reported a male in a black SUV threatened to run over his dog.

Officers were dispatched to a report of a neighbor yelling Wednesday on the 1200 block of Quince Street. The woman reported she was yelling at her dog because it was barking. She was advised to keep the dog on the other side of the house.

Received a report of a suspicious person Wednesday asking children for directions to First Lutheran Church on South Eighth Street. The police department noted there was a funeral taking place at the church.

Received a report of a small child being locked outside a residence Wednesday on 17th Street Southeast. The case was referred to Social Services.

Baxter police

PROPERTY DAMAGE - James Mullins, 6000 block of Fairfax Road, Wednesday reported a suspect sprayed initials on the roadway with driveway sealant.

THEFT - Kevin Worley, 15000 Dellwood Drive, Wednesday reported a theft of a red Huffy Mountain Bike.

INVESTIGATIONS - A welfare check, 7000 block of Fairview Road, Wednesday led to the arrest of a suspect for Cass County probation violations.

Received a report Wednesday from a woman, Franklin Drive, that her neighbor was playing loud sounds preventing her from leaving her home.

Received a report that stop lights at Highway 210 and Highland Scenic Road were changing from red to green and back again at random. The State Patrol was advised.
