Burrell Flanagan held Menahga to three hits and two earned runs to lead the Brainerd VFW freshmen baseball team to an 11-2 victory Monday in Brainerd.
Joel Martin and Kevin Peterson combined efforts to lead Brainerd to a 14-4 victory in game two.
Flanagan struck out 10 and walked four in game one. Karl Freudenberg was 3-for-3 with an RBI. Brett Jenkins was 2-2 with an RBI and three walks and Tate Rusk was 2-5 with an RBI.
In game two, Craig McCluney was 2-3 with two RBIs. Quinn Impola and Martin were both 1-2 with a walk and two RBIs.
Martin gave up two hits and struck out two in three innings of work. Peterson came on in relief to pitch two innings. He allowed three hits and three earned runs.
The Brainerd freshmen VFW moves to 16-1-1 and faces Crosby 11 a.m. Friday in Crosby.
