If law enforcement plans to crack down on speeders beginning July 1, I hope they will focus some of their attention on the Wise Road. Cars there go from 0-60 or 70 in less than a quarter-mile right around the spot where the "Watch for Pedestrians" 40 mph sign is located. Recently, I saw an impatient motorist pass a left-turning motorist on the shoulder and a bicyclist was almost mowed down. Please do something about this.
Culture of caring
Let's make school year 2007-08 a new year of anti-bullying. No physical, verbal or Internet bullying. Parents and teachers, don't be afraid to recognize signs of a child being picked on. They are working on a federal law protecting children and families. Don't allow your child to pick on others. Let's all fight to stop bullying. Parents, teach your children to be a part of a culture of caring. Let's not accept bad language. Teach respect and responsibility. Hate is toxic.
