PRINCETON - Ardis "Ardy" Elaine Peterson, age 77, of Princeton, passed away at Fairview Northland Medical Center in Princeton, Minn., on June 27, 2007.
Ardis was born on July 14, 1929, to Alfred and Sophie Peterson on the homestead in Bay Lake, Minn. Ardis graduated from Brainerd High School.
Ardis married Calvin Peterson on Nov. 25, 1947, in Brainerd. After marriage the couple farmed near Brainerd until 1960. In 1967 the family moved to the cities, until moving to Princeton in 1984.
Ardis was very active in the Civic Betterment Club and a member of Princeton United Methodist Church. Ardis loved her gardening, arts and crafts, monthly coffee with Corrine and Mary Ann and visiting in the park with all her neighbors and friends.
Ardis was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Calvin on Sept. 13, 1991; two brothers, Lloyd Blunt and Lyle Blunt; and one sister, Carol Yelverton.
Ardis is survived by her children, Calvin (Cecilia) Peterson, of Foreston, Duane (Kay) Peterson, of Blaine, Dennis Peterson, of Milaca, Darlene (Bill) Burns, of Elk River; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one sister, Gracie Nelson, of Utah; and two brothers, Edward Peterson, of Missouri, and Freddie Peterson, of Brainerd.
Services were at the Williams-Hanson-Kaun Funeral Home in Princeton with Deacon Dominic Ehrmantraut officiating. Interment was in Oak Grove Cemetery in Brainerd. Casket bearers were Edward Gene Peterson, John Calvin Peterson, Duane "Bud" Peterson, Joel Anthony Peterson, Christopher Allen Peterson and Michael George Mand.
Arrangements were with Williams-Hanson-Kaun Funeral Home, Princeton.
