BAXTER - Participants in the eighth annual Susan G. Komen Brainerd Lakes Race for the Cure don't have to wait until race day to register or pick up their race packets.
The race begins at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at Forestview Middle School in Baxter. Packet pick-up and same-day registration begins at 7 a.m.
Race organizers suggested that those who wish to beat the race-morning rush may pick up their packets and pre-register from 10 a.m.- 8 p.m. Friday at Forestview Middle School.
June rainfall less than half of normal for area
June rainfall in Brainerd totaled 2.19 inches, compared to a 10-year average of 5.41 inches, officials at the DNR's Brainerd office reported.
Year-to-date precipitation is 12.61 inches compared to an average of 14.73 inches.
June's high temperature was 88 degrees on June 25. The low temperature of 42 degrees was recorded on June 5 and 6.
Planning commission to meet July 11
The Brainerd Planning Commission will meet at 6 p.m. on July 11 at Brainerd City Hall.
