WALKER -- The Cass County Board will tour the county garbage transfer station north of Pine River at 5 p.m. Aug. 6.
The building, now under construction, is expected to be completed by that date. The board will hold the regular commissioners' meeting for that date the same evening at a location in Pine River to be announced later.
Tuesday, the board approved a $1,667 additional cost for the building project to change the method for connecting the roof to the concrete building framework. Fasteners originally planned for the project did not come in the length needed for the project.
Paul Fairbanks, environmental services director, obtained board approval to revise the 1971 Cass County Lawful Assembly Ordinance. The board will consider adopting a revised version in about two months.
Cass County will hold household hazardous waste collection programs at the following locations:
Noon to 4:30 p.m. July 29 at Slagle's Transfer site, east of Longville; noon to 4:30 p.m. Aug. 7 at Pillager City Hall; noon to 4:30 p.m. Aug. 26 at Crooked Lake Town Hall; and 3 to 7 p.m. Sept. 9 at May Township Transfer Station.
