NORTHFIELD --Frank Louis Wolf, 76, Northfield, and lifelong summer resident of Bay Lake, died Saturday, July 1, 2000, at home in Bay Lake.
He was born April 18, 1924, in St. Louis, Mo., to Louis and Dorcas (Below) Wolf. He was a World War II army veteran. He married Joy Eleanor Gifford on Aug. 16, 1947, in Webster Groves, Mo. He graduated from Washington University in St. Louis, Mo., with a bachelor of science degree in chemical engineering and a master's degree in mathematics. He earned his doctorate in mathematics from the University of Minnesota. He was professor emeritus of mathematics at Carleton College of Northfield where he taught from 1952-1989.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Jon G. Wolf, Minneapolis; three daughters, Joan Wolf, Deerwood, Joy Allison Wolf, Minneapolis, and Barbara W. Terao, Evanston, Ill.; five grandchildren; a great-grandchild; a brother, Bryant Wolf, Harrison, Ark.; and two sisters, Dorcas Whitehead, Silverton, Ore., and Joan W. Blistain, Bay Lake.
Memorial services will be at Carleton College of Northfield in September. Burial was in Bay Lake Cemetery of Bay Lake Township. Memorials are preferred to Bay Lake Environmental Fund.
