20 years ago (1989)

One hundred twenty people showed up for a special Business After Hours session held Tuesday to tour the new remodeling of the Croft Historical Mine and to relax on one of seven pontoon boats on the mine pit lakes.

30 years ago (1979)

When Randy Bush joined the St. Joseph Police Department on June 23 he left behind a complicated legal situation which city officials are trying to figure out. Bush, accused of abusing prisoners while on the department here, is scheduled for a civil service hearing.

40 years ago (1969)

Funeral services are planned for PFC Andy Kokesh, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Kokesh of Garrison, who was killed at Chu Lai, Vietnam while serving with the 46th Infantry. He was a graduate of Washington High School, Brainerd Junior College and the U of M.

60 years ago (1949)

The 194th Tank Battalion of the Minnesota National Guard will report to Camp Ripley from July 10 through 24 for annual training, it was announced to day by Lt. Col. Carl Erickson, battalion commander.

80 years ago (1929)

How do you like our new typeface? With today's edition the Dispatch appears for the first time in the Intertype Ideal News typeface. It is the same one used by the New York Times, New York Sun and Cleveland Plain Dealer, among many others.

100 years ago (1909)

Wallace Lind, who recently graduated from the U. S. Naval Academy, and who has been on leave visiting his parents, received orders today to report to San Francisco. There he will serve on the USS California.
