MADISON, Wis. -- Some ninth-inning fireworks gave the Mallards the win Friday night.

Ryan Spilborghs' two-out double scored David Castillo all the way from first for the winning run. Spilborghs finished 3-for-4 and teammate Rene Recio was 2-for-4.

The Gulls scored in the top of the sixth, but the Mallards answered with two runs in their half of the inning. Ryan Ruiz's RBI single scored Spilborghs to put the Mallards up 2-1. Brainerd tied the game in the eighth.

Jeremy Isenhower was 2-for-3 with two runs scored to lead the Gulls at the plate.

Losing pitcher Tim Gorski went the distance, giving up 10 hits, three earned runs, walked one and struck out nine.
