How lakes area students did on the state tests

The Minnesota Department of Education released Wednesday the following results of the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment - Series II tests in reading and math. Students in third- through eighth-grade take both reading and math assessments each year while 10th-graders take a reading test and 11th graders take a math test. Percentages were rounded.

Aitkin

• 84 percent of third graders were proficient in math; 83 percent were proficient in reading.

• 76 percent of fourth graders were proficient in math; 79 percent were proficient in reading.

• 56 percent of fifth graders were proficient in math; 58 percent were proficient in reading.

• 69 percent of sixth graders were proficient in math; 80 percent were proficient in reading.

• 57 percent of seventh graders were proficient in math; 66 percent were proficient in reading.

• 68 percent of eighth graders were proficient in math; 76 percent were proficient in reading.

• 77 percent of 10th graders were proficient in reading.

• 41 percent of 11th graders were proficient in math.

Crosby-Ironton

• 53 percent of third graders were proficient in math; 64 percent were proficient in reading.

• 61 percent of fourth graders were proficient in math; 75 percent were proficient in reading.

• 50 percent of fifth graders were proficient in math; 71 percent were proficient in reading.

• 39 percent of sixth graders were proficient in math; 67 percent were proficient in reading.

• 55 percent of seventh graders were proficient in math; 58 percent were proficient in reading.

• 80 percent of third graders were proficient in math; 78 percent were proficient in reading.
