Braves defeat Randall in Victory League

The Brainerd Braves defeated the Randall Cubs 9-5 Sunday in Victory League amateur baseball as they collected eight hits and committed three errors.

Fort Ripley 13, St. Mathias 12

FORT RIPLEY -- Behind Tim Siekas' 5-for-6 effort at the plate, including two triples and three runs, the Fort Ripley Rebels overcame an 8-run first-inning deficit and squeaked by the St. Mathias Saints 13-12 in 11 innings Sunday.

Kevin Mertens was 2-for-3 with two runs and Joe Kounkel picked up the victory for the Rebels with three innings of relief.

Mike Innes was 3-for-6 with three runs and Willy Reed added three hits for the Saints.

Buckman 10, Brewers 9

BUCKMAN -- Trailing 9-4 in the bottom of the ninth, the Buckman Billygoats scored six runs to complete an improbable comeback and nip the Pierz Brewers 10-9 Sunday.

Dave Woitalla was 3-for-5 with a home run and four RBI for Buckman. Teammates Chris Hoheisel and Wade Bauer were also 3-for-5 and each had an RBI. Brandon Lochner picked up the win in relief.

Jason Sadlovsky was 4-for-5 with four runs scored and Scott Kimman was 3-for-5 with two RBI for the Brewers.

Pierz Brewers -- 9 16 4

WP -- Brandon Lochner. LP -- Chad Weiss.

Bulldogs 8, Lastrup 7

PIERZ -- Jeff Riley, who was 2-for-5 with two runs and two RBI, drove in John Pohlkamp, who was also 2-for-5, with the game-winning run as the Pierz Bulldogs edged the Lastrup Lakers 8-7 in 10 innings Sunday.

The Bulldogs overcame Rich Schlieman's 2-for-5 game at the plate, which included a grand slam, and Reggie Litke who was 4-for-5 with a home run and two RBI.

Bulldogs -- 8 9 0

WP -- Dan Rocheleau. LP -- Jamie Litke.

Buckman 10, Fort Ripley 9

BUCKMAN -- The Billygoats, behind Chris Hoheisel's 4-for-6 day at the plate including a home run and three RBI, rallied from an 8-4 eighth-inning deficit to defeat the Fort Ripley Rebels 10-9 in 10 innings Saturday.

Dave Woitalla was also 4-for-6 with three RBI and Scott Geiger added two hits for the Billygoats. Geiger also came away with the win in relief.

For the Rebels, Curt Veith was 3-for-4 while Ray Austin and Tony Veith both added two hits.

Buckman 11, St. Mathias 4

ST. MATHIAS -- The Billygoats used a 9-run sixth inning to overpower the St. Mathias Saints as they cruised to an 11-4 victory Saturday.

Todd Robinson was 3-for-6 with two RBI and Scott Boser was 3-for-5 with a pair of RBI for the Billygoats. Matt Gohl picked up the win as he pitched eight innings while striking out nine.

Justin Bundy was 3-for-5 with an RBI and Nate Huber and Ben Houle each added two hits for the Saints.

St. Mathias -- 4 11 1
