Mark Stadem has seen budding progress at the Paul Bunyan Arboretum since joining the board of directors in December. On Monday, Stadem became the arb's acting management director, replacing Rudy Hillig, who resigned June 15.

U. S. District Court Judge Donald Alsop has denied a last-ditch effort to block fluoridation of Brainerd's water supply. Faced with a Sunday deadline to comply with the law, Brainerd Water and Light officials said it will take them six weeks to prepare.

John Pecarich, son of Mr. and Mrs. Matt Pecarich of Crosby, has graduated from Mankato State College with a degree in elementary education. He will teach sixth grade at Sauk Rapids this fall.

The fish car Glenwood came up today with a large number of brook trout fry. Fifteen cans were turned over to George Rardin and will be released in Pillager Creek.
