Brainerd, Pierz win C-I league

CROSBY - Brainerd defeated Crosby-Ironton 25-22 in the Fastbreak League Wednesday, winning the seventh-grade championship. Pierz won the eight-grade championship over C-I 24-21.

Participating in the seventh-grade contest were: Maria Comeau, Natalie Comeau, Maria West (2 points), Molly Palm (2), Hanna Kangas, Gretchen Kletscher (10), Daniella Weber (2), Erica Trafas (4), Lara Ammerman and Jasmine Hayes (5), for Brainerd; and Chelsey Bonsante (6), Amy Biever, September Prushek (7), Bailey Swenson, Melissa Foote (5), Katie Anderson, Hailey Hann, Sienna Miller (4) and Sammy Goshey for C-I.

Participating in the eighth-grade game were: Erin Gritzmacher (12), Cassie Bannick, Jayme Sczublewski (2), Amber Preimesberger (4), Erika Broschofsky (4) and Autumn Woitalla (2) for Pierz; and Jana Anderson (15), Maggie Buchite (2), Breanna Kugal, Kelsey Duffney , Torie McTaggart (2) and Kristine Gustafson (2) for C-I.
