ACCIDENT
GARRISON -- The State Patrol responded to a one-vehicle rollover at 10:20 p.m. Monday on Highway 169 in Garrison.

Cass County court
WALKER -- Michael Elmo Blood Jr., 34, Elk River, was found in violation by Cass County District Court of probation he was serving for two counts of felony second-degree burglary and one count of felony third-degree burglary and received execution of one 23-month and two 18-month prison terms, to be served concurrently with credit for 152 days already served.

Tina and Jared Callahan, Brainerd, a girl, Cecelia Lonett, 7 pounds, 1 ounce, May 16. Grandparents are Jerome and Lonett Callahan, Osteen, Fla., and David and Terry Spindler, Brainerd.

Walls come crumbling down
Demolition of the Crosby-Ironton Junior High School building began last week and will continue for the next few weeks, part of the $20.5 million building bond project passed by taxpayers in 2002. The old junior high building was constructed in 1915, 1917 and 1920. C-I junior high and high school students will return to school this fall to a new and renovated school building. Swimmer dies in river
Authorities Monday recovered the body of Daniel Lawrence Hawkins from the Mississippi River, three hours after he had been swimming with friends in the French Rapids area near the Brainerd Lakes Regional Airport.

A panel of three people, appointed by Crow Wing District Court, placed a value on the Elks building, the subject of eminent domain proceedings with Crow Wing County, at $1.1 million.

I am puzzled and hope that someone out here in newspaper land can answer some questions for me. I am referring to the seat belt law. Right now, there's the "click it or ticket" campaign going on. I believe everyone under 18 should wear a seat belt, no matter where they are driving/riding but I think that any adult over 18 should be allowed to drive within city limits without a seat belt.
