MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Three men apparently drowned last week on Minnesota lakes, authorities said.
Two men apparently fell from their canoe on Greenwood Lake in northeastern Minnesota while the other man dove from a fishing boat on Forest Lake north of Minneapolis and never resurfaced.
One of the men's bodies was recovered from Greenwood Lake on Friday. Authorities were still searching Saturday for the other body. Authorities on Saturday had not released the names of the 51-year-old Silver Bay man and the 45-year-old Pequot Lakes man.
Lake County Sheriff Steve Peterson said the men were last seen alive around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday by a group of other anglers. Their overturned canoe was discovered around noon Thursday.
Greenwood Lake is about 35 miles north of Two Harbors.
At Forest Lake, a man told authorities his companion dove into the water Friday afternoon and never came back up. His body was recovered around 8:30 p.m. Friday. His name had not been released Saturday.
Forest Lake is 25 miles northeast of Minneapolis.
