Mitch Bzdok hit a grand slam and drove in six runs and Blaine Bubalo hit a solo home run to propel Brainerd's sophomore VFW team to a 13-3 five-inning victory over Litchfield in the first game of a doubleheader Thursday at Adamson Field.
Bzdok finished 2-for-2 with a walk and sacrifice fly. Bubalo was 2-3 with a walk and scored four runs
Bruce London was 3-4 with two doubles and two RBIs, Kevin Peterson was 2-4 with two doubles and an RBI and Jack Hegarty was 2-4 with an RBI and three runs scored.
Hegarty got the win. He allowed six hits and two earned runs and struck out three.
In Game Two, Adam Gunderman was 3-5 with a double and four RBIs and Jake Mettler was 3-4 with two doubles and four RBIs in Brainerd's 20-15 loss.
Nate Eschenbacher was 3-4 with two RBIs, Bubalo was 2-5 with a double and RBI and Cole Jensen was 2-5.
