Summer adult forum

First Congregational United Church of Christ, Brainerd, will hold a summer adult forum Sunday. The topic will be the Minnesota Citizen's Personal Security Act of 2003 recently passed by the state Legislature. The Minnesota Conference, UCC, recently passed a resolution to join the lawsuit challenging provisions of the conceal and carry law. The forum will focus on the public witness of the church. Attorney Brad Person will be on the panel to discuss the legal aspects and Pastor Deb Celley will speak to the theological and historical perspective of the resolution. A member of the Minnesota Conference Justice and Witness Committee has been invited to speak to the resolution. The forum will begin at 11:15 a.m. following the 10 a.m. church service.

The Kings Countrymen

The Kings Countrymen, a bluegrass group from central Wisconsin, will be in concert at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Malmo Free Church. Rain or shine, the concert will be outdoors. Bring a lawn chair. Refreshments will be available and a freewill offering will be received.

Open house set

for Fergusons

The Salvation Army of Brainerd will hold an open house 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Salvation Army offices in Brainerd for Capts. Paul and Amy Jo Ferguson, who will be leaving the Brainerd office for a new assignment.

Pastor Mark Anderson and members of Crosslake Lutheran Church, E.L.C.A., will host the sixth annual Classic Car Sunday at the 10 a.m. outdoor worship service Sunday. The service is located on Daggett Pine Road across from the Crosslake Community Center in downtown Crosslake. The community and visitors to the area are invited to attend this service or participate by coming in a vintage, sports car, street rod or any other specialty car. All people are invited no matter what type of car they drive.
