Nisswa Freedom Fest dance to feature two bands

NISSWA -- The Nisswa Volunteer Fire Department will host a street dance with two bands July 6 at the Nisswa Fire Hall as a mid-summer fund-raiser.

Cost: $8 in advance at Lakes Music, Schaefer's Foods, Nisswa Triangle and Spirits of Nisswa, $10 at the door

The event will begin at 5:30 p.m. Music will start at 7 p.m. with a battle of the bands format, featuring area bands Silent Partner and The Retractions. The bands will appear on two separate stages, performing continuously until midnight.

Firefighters and Nisswa Jaycees will serve food and beverages. The event will take place rain or shine.

Hosted in conjunction with the Nisswa Freedom Day weekend festivities, all proceeds from the event will help finance firefighting training and equipment for the department.

Advance tickets are being sold. Door prizes will be awarded to the first 200 paid adults. Advance tickets are $8 at Lakes Music, Schaefer's Foods, Nisswa Triangle and Spirits of Nisswa. At the door, tickets are $10. Admission is free for youths under 18, if accompanied by a paid adult.
