IRONTON - William Donald Hanson, age 75, of Ironton, died on June 24, 2009, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. He was born on July 7, 1933, in Crosby to Elmer and Annie (Semler) Hanson.

He was a retired bricklayer installing fireplaces and foundations in many area homes. He was a musician playing in several local bands including, Bill and Gus, Black Water Band and Lonesome Road Band. Bill also was an auctioneer with D & H Auction Service in Crosby.
He is survived by his wife, Gayle; three sons, Ryan Hanson, of Owatonna, William E. (Erin) Hanson, of Bloomington, and Curtis (Nicole Evans) Hanson, of Crosby; three daughters, Anna Hanson, of Ironton, Denise (Julian) Aggerback, of Australia, and Jean Marie Hanson, of Deerwood; one brother, Conrad (Myrtle) Hanson, of Grand Rapids; nine grandchildren and one great-grandson.
He is preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Albert, Fred "Pat," Robert, David and Elmer "Jigs;" and four sisters, Elaine, Edith, Sissy and Ruth.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday at the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby. Burial will be at the Woodland Cemetery in Irondale Township. Friends may call on Friday from noon until the time of services. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
